  psychology class is teaching me so much.

  it's a core class, as i want to study medicine or biochemistry eventually.

  The Milgram study was an attempt to understand why the Nazi party had so much power in wartime Germany. The fact that so many relied on the defense that they were just "obeying orders" left an uneasy question over the capacity for humanity to commit such outrageous acts of barbarity.

  A comparison of WT attitudes and teaching with Hitler's authoritarian regime makes my hair stand on end. Hitler had all non-approved books burned, he closed universities calling them subversive, he removed people with any contrary thought.

  Hitler put all nay-sayers in the camps. Jehovah’s Christian Witnesses would never do that ………..would they? What would they do to apostates…………if they could?

  Witnesses: Why The 1/19/14 WT Lesson Is Dangerous

  today's watchtower lesson touched on the history of hezekiah's reign, and then made a surprising modern-day application.

  having used my time before the meeting to research the underlying material instead of highlighting my magazine, i personally found this to be an upsetting study, and decided to put this warning here in the hopes that some active witnesses read it.. the most important thing i want to say to you is that the actual flow of events in this bible account were severely misrepresented, and that there are some disturbing implications in the distortions that were made.

  1. hezekiah's father ahaz makes himself a vassal to assyria out of fear of their overwhelming might (2 kings 16:7, 8).. 2. upon becoming king, hezekiah rebels against assyria (2 kings 18:7).

  How refreshing a good honest summary and well reasoned analysis are. Reading the WT these days is like reading the propaganda of a dictator state. Perhaps the impractical and illogical instruction will be goose-stepping.

  Harry Patch, the last British man to have fought in WW1 died in 2009. He was 111 years old. I find this a poignant counterpoint to the multi-generation fiasco we are expected to swallow.

  i checked the program, i bet many can guess what many of the talks will be, but here are a few titles........ .

  "symposium: reject strange teachings" - aka reject truth being exposed about the society and their teachings.

  "you must hate your enemy" - aka you must hate the gb's enemy of family and friends who have awaken to their lies and left.

  I have just been to that “feast of good things”, that is if you consider self-serving, misinterpreted damaging propaganda, “good things” . You could not find a more convoluted load of bullcrap if you tried. If you actually listen to what is said, the way logic is spun and stretched it leaves you cross-eyed.

  Since I have been woken as to the flip-flops and weird reasoning I have learned to listen much more carefully. I love to apply critical thinking to what I hear.

  I spend the “association” time telling people what they have just heard. They look at me with amazement. Most people just sit there nodding their heads, clapping on cue and dozing quietly. I sometimes think I am the only one actually hearing what is said.

  The result is that although I am stuck where I am, I find the whole thing quite entertaining except when it makes me boil with rage.

  I will put up some “highlights” in a week or two when it won’t be so easily associated with me.

  not now, it has been slipped in for the outine of contents for acts 15. here we are looking at history through a modern, distorting lens.. outline of contents.

  As we know, we can search the bible from cover to cover and we don’t find any reference to the “governing body”. Not now, it has been slipped in for the Outine of Contents for Acts 15. Here we are looking at history through a modern, distorting lens.

  here in gettysburg pa last night night we hit a low of -4 degrees but we were blessed with some wind that dropped the wind chill down to -22..

  BIG conversation with the missus MKII. Ended well. Wish I could argue better!

  well, had a loooooooong conversation with the missus again after being accused of being overly critical of the borg.. .

  i stated that i thought the borg was marvellous, full of really good people, (in our experience, it has been so far), but that i had difficulty with the dogmatic stance we had on certain issues that we couldn't possibly be sure about, and that if i were to vocalise any of these issues and unrepentantly not change my thinking, then i could be df'd for that, which i view as an unloving bullying tactic.

  organ transplants, vaccinations, (jah will resurrect, don't worry), new understandings of the fads and generations etc... particularly the thought that only jw's will be saved.

  CB, I am delighted for you. The cracks are opening, the wheels are turing. Think of the advice the KM give you. If you can't answer a question, look it up and come back later with the answer.

  We have been brought up to think that there is an answer for everything. There isn't. It would be great to be as sure of anything as the WT is of everything! Keep it up bud.
